The Council on Aging for Henderson County announced Elizabeth Williams will be joining the COAHC as Executive Director, effective July 27, 2023.
Elizabeth will work with the COAHC while also acting as Executive Director of MountainCare, a nonprofit providing Adult Day Services in Buncombe and Henderson counties. She successfully transitioned MountainCare Adult Day from a large healthcare organization into a stand-alone, independent agency. She then assumed leadership of the Council on Aging for Henderson County, streamlining administrative functioning for both organizations.
“It is a privilege and a joy to be the new executive director of Council of Aging for Henderson County. This organization has a long history of providing valuable and comprehensive aging services to older adults in our community,” says Williams.
Elizabeth believes in supporting older adults and their caregivers by providing services that promote independence, dignity, and options. She offered end-of-life care and case management for three family members, which inspired her professional work with the aging population more than 15 years ago. Elizabeth is a leader in local and statewide aging initiatives and is currently involved in finding ways for nonprofit organizations to develop healthy partnerships for long-term sustainability. She holds a degree in Social Work.
