Council on Aging of Henderson County, NC Gets Brand Makeover, Launches New Website & Awareness Campaign
Last week the Council on Aging of Henderson County launched a new brand and website, and will be rolling out a new awareness campaign over 2015. Among the goals behind this new look and website are a desire to increase awareness in the community about the services offered by the organization and reduce the number of people on their Meals on Wheels waiting list. Director Trina Stokes says it “is imperative that the seniors of Henderson County have a strong voice in the community and are aware of all the services and activities available that promote healthy, active, and safe lifestyles for people as they age.”
Due to budget cuts and the refocus of many funds to youth programs, elderly assistance programs across the country are experiencing more financial strain than usual. Throughout the year, the Council on Aging will host a series of events reaching out to various communities throughout Henderson County encouraging them to get involved by volunteering, donating, or shopping at COA thrift stores. These events will also highlight the need for people of all ages to start planning for their later years. The baby boom generation, the largest generation in the history of the United States, is rapidly approaching the “elderly” demographic and the need for services and support will increase dramatically. Director Stokes says “The goal is to make sure the seniors in our community have the resources and support they need. We hope you enjoy the new logo and find the new information on the website useful. Be on the lookout for events sponsored by the Council on Aging this upcoming year!”
Behind the Design
The design team at Peppermint Media LLC redesigned the logo and visual branding, with the intent to provide a new image for CoA that is fresh, colorful, and inviting, but also signifies a change in the stages of life. Peppermint has launched a new responsive website that will enable the organization to easily accept contributions and connect with the community via email and social media, with more integrations to follow throughout 2015.
